Swift, simple, and satisfying, these air-fried shrimp can play the role of a delightful appetizer with the right sauce or take center stage as the main dish when adorning a dinner salad accompanied by a delightful vinaigrette.

How To Cook Frozen Shrimp In Air Fryer

  • 1 pound of frozen raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon of seafood seasoning (e.g., Old Bay®)
  • â…› teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly chopped parsley (Optional)
  • 4 wedges of fresh lemon (Optional)

 

Directions

  1. Begin by preheating your air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 5 minutes.
  2. While the air fryer heats up, take a moment to separate any frozen shrimp if they’ve clumped together. Use a spoon to gently dislodge any ice crystals that might have formed.
  3. Once the air fryer is preheated, place a single layer of frozen shrimp (approximately ½ pound) in the cooking area. Let them cook for about 4 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, seafood seasoning, and cayenne pepper to create a flavorful mixture.
  5. When the initial timer sounds, give each shrimp a brush of the seasoned butter. Then, flip them over and brush the other side as well. Continue air-frying until the shrimp boast a vibrant pink hue on the outside, and the flesh turns opaque. This should take an additional 3 to 4 minutes. Repeat this step with the remaining shrimp.
  6. Once fully cooked, add a finishing touch by garnishing the shrimp with freshly chopped parsley and optional lemon wedges.

Instructions

  • When the timer sounds, brush each shrimp with seasoned butter, turn over, and brush the other side as well. Air-fry until shrimp are bright pink on the outside and the meat is opaque, 3 to 4 more minutes. Repeat with remaining shrimp.
  • Garnish with parsley and lemon wedges.
